Protecting Your Reputation Online

By Jared Alexander

What's This New Reputation Online Repair?

If you've started a business that relies on its online presence, which let's face it should be almost every business these days, you know how useful the Internet can be in putting you in front of countless eyes. You might have also unfortunately discovered how easy it can be for someone to put something negative about you or your business in front of those same eyes. Now suddenly it feels as if the entire world has turned against you. You've been vilified, and it may seem like there's nothing you can do.

This situation is only a problem as long as someone's there to see it. And while it seems unfair that any stray insult can have such terrible effects, it's not irreversible. In the last few years, reputation repair services have arisen to help people regain control of their online image by making the bad stuff go away.

Reputation Online or Offline, What's the Difference?

It's all about where people's eyes land. If they don't see the bad stuff, it's as good as forgotten. That's the thinking behind these services -- simply move the bad stuff out of the search traffic. They can move the sites with negative content down five or ten pages or more, which moves it out of any kind of search neighborhood anyone would ever want to visit.

And in place of the bad stuff is content that reflects better on your business. In short time, you've got yourself a new lease on online life with a new reputation. You can get back to business, dealing with people and building an impression with them that you have control over. As it should be.

Reputation Online Equates to Marketing as Well

This may all sound a little scary if you've just launched a business. But this kind of service can benefit you too, regardless of whether you've got negative content to deal with. Maybe your problem is you have no content at all; you're sitting down the rankings. This kind of service can raise you up like a star, up to the top of the searches, where you better be ready for some traffic.

There are plenty of rules to this whole Internet thing, that's for sure. But nothing hard and fast, aside from this: It's pretty clear that your online image, whether as a person or as a business owner, is something you need to have control over at all times. Because if you turn your electric back for even a second (which is a lifetime in Internet terms), somebody will come along and try and control it for you.

Shopping On The Internet Is An Excellent Way To Purchase Your Promotional Merchandise

No matter what the reason that you are looking for promotional products, whether you are thinking about using them for an upcoming event or want to order some general products for use in your business you will find that there are many different companies on the web that sell these products. Looking around for logo imprinted products online takes more than just finding a company because there are many different websites out there on the web and discerning the difference between one and the other can be difficult.

Take a look at the companies that appear in the top of search results. Look at their sites and what they are offering. Carefully inspect some of the pages to make sure they do not overlap with the same products on different pages as this is a common way of doing business look big and have a larger selection than they really are. Note, of course, that just because a company is in the top of search results does not mean they trust this is only a representation of your web presence and a better company may still be further back in the search results.

Once you get an idea of your site and they seem to have a secure website and provide elements that would be interested in, get a couple of questions to ask and give them a call. You always want to take the time to call the customer service number before placing a web order to see exactly what type of phone service is available. Many times you will have to contact the company with questions and additional information about a product and you need to know that someone knows there to answer your call. If you find that the website is offered only contact you by e-mail, then you probably will want to shop elsewhere some companies may take days to reply to e-mail and can not always have that kind time to wait for a response.

All Web-based companies are not identical and, therefore, you must be careful and take time to check their reputation online and you can watch in society and communicate with the Better Business Bureau about the company as well. You can never be too careful when dealing with a company online and make sure they take credit cards, so you have some form of redress if there is a problem with your order.

For the most part online promotional products companies are safe and reputable but it is a good idea to ask for some samples of their work before placing your first order. This way you know that you are getting quality products for the price you are paying.

Generate Income Online Using Affiliate Marketing

For a lot of website owners who don’t have a product or service of their own to sell, it can be really difficult to generate income online. Yeah sure, you could sell advertising space, but unless you are pulling in a huge amount of traffic to your site, nobody will be willing to pay you a canny bit of dosh to have you advertise their product. Hmmmm so, you don’t have any product or service to put out there and advertising won’t generate an income worth shouting about. What’s your next move? Well the solution is simple: Affiliate Marketing.

Affiliate marketing is a simple concept and a huge amount of websites rely on affiliate marketing to pull in the majority of their sales. Put simply, you try and sell other people's products for a commission. Commission can be anywhere from 5 to 75 percent of the price of the product. Generally speaking, the software, information products, and services provide the highest rate of commission. It's really easy finding items in these areas that provide 50 to 75 percent commission!

The best way to turn your traffic to sales is by making sure that the products and services you are advertising on your website target your visitors. If your site deals with football for example or sports, trying to market cooking lessons will fail and you can bet your bottom dollar, it’ll generate no income what so ever.

Another useful tip is to ensure advertisements don't look like advertisements. People do not come to your site to pay any attention to the banner ads that are all over the place. They visit your site for information on what you provide. If your site deals with online dating, write a few reviews on different online dating services out there on the Internet with links to the services.

So how does this work exactly? I hear you asking. How do these companies realise that you’re the one responsible for generating these sales or leads and that it isn’t someone else? When you sign up as an affiliate for different products and services, you’re assigned a unique link to place on your website or blog. When visitors click that link, the website you are referring visitors to knows that the visitor came through your site. Then, if that visitor purchases a product or service from that site, you are credited for bringing in that sale and earn a commission fee.

When searching for a product to market as an affiliate, have a scout around websites selling products or services that relate to your website's information. Many of these sites will have affiliate programs and have a link placed on their site with information on how you can sign up to be an affiliate with them.

Affiliate marketing along with selling advertising on your website (check out Google Adsense) is an amazing and very profitable way of generating income for your site. It costs nothing and there is no inventory to keep. It's all pure profit. What could be better?

In a future post I'll show you a couple of a affiliate programmes that have benefited me :)

Money Making with Blogs and Websites

Make Easy Money With A Blog

I know it this might sound a little hard to believe when you read this, but it is fact that more than 98% of the blogs out there get less than 50 visitors a day which amounts to somewhere near 1 pence in earning per week. Nothing really is it. Only 2% of the blogs are generating more traffic than that and out of all those  more than 50% cannot generate any real income out of it, forget making easy money.

The problem is: Bloggers are either doing it all wrong or they don’t want to pull in traffic (visitors) and generate income. (the second bit I cannot for the life of me believe why that would be the case). Well whatever the reason is, I suppose you do want to make a bit of easy money, don’t you? If so then please read on.

I will not go into huge details as I don't want to bore you, instead I’ll just pount out some key areas that can help you improve your chances of success or tell you where you’re going wrong. If you don’t already have a blog it is easy to create one using providers such as Blogger or Wordpress.

Find a niche area that you know something about. Don’t put Adsense yet! Write around 2-3 unique articles a week and put in some effort to write 1 pillar article a month. Be active in social networks and other blogs. Try linking others and maybe they will do the same for you helping you build up a rep.

After 2 months, if your blog is pulling in 200-300 unique visitors a day and has a pagerank 3 above then throw in the adsense ads. For the adsense placement, make sure that the ad is above the fold (the user does not have to scroll down to see the ad) and is on a place where the user is likely to look.

That should get you around 15-20 clicks a day (depends on the type of traffic) and if the advertiser pays well you can make £10-£15 a day and could pull in a £450 cheque from Google at the end of the month. Now that’s what I call easy money!

Making Money Via Creating Online Assets
This might be linked slightly with the previous one but this I feel wouldn’t exactly fit the definition of easy money but once you do a little bit of graft with the determination to achieve your aim then I’d consider it to be the highest level of easy money.

By online assets I don’t mean flipping website and all or having valuable domains. What I mean is this create a website, work on it for a while to get recurring traffic and then put it on auto-pilot and generate income with it.
If you haven’t twigged by now, I’m talking about niche blogs. Unlike the first ones, these involve less work and are far less hassle to set up. First you need to find a money making niche and get all your keywords. Next, start a blog over the keywords and the whole topic.

Write around 2 articles a week, each article targeting a sub-keyword. Start building back links slowly. After a few months, you may reduce your posting frequency to 2 or 3 articles a month. But as before, do not put adsense before 2 months. Or before your website/blog starts appearing on the first page for the keywords you’re targeting.

The advantage of this method is that, some niches take a lot of time for people to find them. Hence, if you find them at the right time you can profit off those keywords for almost little or no work. I see this complete automation of making money and totally easy money once you’re done and trust me not one of these methods are as hard as they sounds so be strong and try them out.

I’m giving valuable information out for free so use it wisely. This might be the point in your life when you actually do start to make easy money online!
